Kehlani says they were sexually assaulted at a British show in Manchester

Kehlani has claimed they were sexually assaulted at a recent show in Manchester.

The singer, who uses they/them pronouns, wrapped up the European leg of the Blue Water Road Trip tour at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on Monday (December 12). After his performance at the venue, the star held an after-show event at another venue in the city where the incident is said to have occurred.

Describing her ordeal, the singer wrote on Instagram Stories: “I’ve been making video after video and deleting them because I don’t want a video of me being so angry, upset and crying upset like I do everywhere else.

“I don’t care how sexual you find my music, my performances, my fun with my friends dancing in clubs, or ME.

“This does not give any of you the right to cross a line like sticking your hands up my skirt and pulling on my underwear to TOUCH MY GENITALS while being escorted through a crowd after the performance. This shit made me sick. As a victim of sexual assault, I am endlessly triggered and overwhelmed.”

The singer has not yet commented further on the alleged incident.

As Billboard reports, Kehlani is a longtime supporter of sexual assault victims and has previously opened up about her own experiences of abuse.

“We are women, we are life, we are the source of life,” they said billboard in 2017. “This can be scary for people and lead to terrible things, but don’t forget who comes from and what you are.” Don’t forget your strength, don’t let trauma take away your strength. That’s easier said than done, but you get the point.”

Rolling Stone UK has contacted representatives from Kehlani and the O2 Victoria Warehouse for comment.
