Police: Milton break-in was no coincidence, search for suspect continues – WSB-TV Channel 2

MILTON, Georgia – A home invasion that ended with the lockdown of several schools miles away earlier this week was a targeted crime, police say.

Police said the break-in happened on Monday around 11:40 a.m. when a man armed with a gun broke into a home on Highgrove Club Drive and stole the homeowner’s Escalade.

Two people were at home, police said. One of them suffered minor injuries.

Alpharetta police arrested the SUV near Haynes Bridge Middle School and began a chase that ended in the school parking lot.

LATEST STORIES:

This led to a lockdown of Haynes Bridge Middle School and later the nearby New Prospect Elementary.

According to police, the suspect did not run toward the school, but toward the Big Creek Greenway.

Milton Police published surveillance photos of the man earlier this week.

Anyone with information about the man can contact Milton police or email Detective Rebecca Tidwell at [email protected].
