Police are investigating the shooting of a security guard outside Drake’s Toronto home

A security guard who worked at Drake’s home in Toronto, Canada, was shot, authorities said Tuesday. Inspector Paul Krawczyk said during a press conference that police were called to the house at around 2 a.m. local time and found a wounded man there who was taken to hospital in serious condition. Authorities said the man was working outside the gate of the home when he was shot. He remains in hospital in serious condition. Krawczyk declined to answer whether Drake was in the apartment at the time of the shooting, but said authorities were in contact with the artist’s team and were cooperating. When asked by reporters whether the shooting had anything to do with Drake’s recent feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, Krawczyk said a motive could not yet be determined. He added that several suspects were involved who drove away in a vehicle. The police have a video of the incident. CNN has reached out to representatives for Drake for comment. The lyrical battle between Drake and Lamar has heated up recently as both have released songs about the other, with personal and professional remarks. Representatives for Lamar could not immediately be reached.
