Man shot in leg during southwest Houston robbery, police say

A man was shot in the leg during a robbery in southwest Houston after handing over his wallet to the robber.

The incident happened in the 8300 block of Williamcrest at 10:30 p.m.

The victim was working on household appliances in an industrial area when he was approached by the thief, who demanded his wallet. The man gave the robber his wallet and did not struggle, but the robber shot him in the leg, according to HPD.

He was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
