Streets flooded, thousands without power in SWLA

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Heavy rains in southwest Louisiana have left roads in southwest Louisiana flooded and many without power.

KPLC is hearing about flooded roads in Lake Charles and throughout the region. An accident was also reported on Ryan Street.

The thunderstorms also resulted in thousands of power outages in Calcasieu, Beauregard, Vernon, Allen and Jeff Davis Parish.

From 8:50 p.m.:

Entergy: 4,311 customers in Calcasieu Parish are without power.

Beauregard Electric: 349 outages in Vernon, 7,092 outages in Beauregard, 2,796 outages in Allen, 6,304 outages in Calcasieu, 24 outages in Jeff Davis.

Cleco: 2,720 outages in Allen, 663 outages in Beauregard, 97 in Calcasieu and 9 in Jeff Davis.
