A head-on crash in Vancouver leaves two people injured and the driver arrested for drunk driving

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A driver has been arrested after a head-on crash left two people injured in Vancouver on Wednesday night, authorities say.

Shortly before 10 p.m., Vancouver police said they were investigating a disturbance in the area of ​​St. Johns Boulevard and East 29th Street when they heard a loud crash nearby and responded to the scene.


Upon arrival, they discovered two pickup trucks were involved in a head-on collision, officials said.

Initial investigation revealed that one of the trucks was traveling northbound on St. Johns Boulevard while the other was traveling southbound. The northbound driver crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with the other truck.

The driver and passenger of the latter pickup were taken to the hospital with injuries including broken bones and a dislocated hip.

The driver of the other truck was booked into the Clark County Jail on two counts of vehicular assault and drunken driving.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Vancouver Police Department’s Traffic Unit.

No further information has been released at this time.
