1 dead, 1 charged after fatal Hazleton crash

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A driver is facing charges and one person is dead following a motorcycle accident in Luzerne County.

According to police, the accident occurred shortly before noon on May 8 involving a motorcycle at North Church Street and 17th Street in Hazleton.

Officials said the motorcycle was stopped in traffic when it was struck by a vehicle.

The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the motorcyclist was cited for negligent driving.
