Did Eddie date Whitney?

Recently, Eddie Murphy did the press tour for his upcoming film “A thousand words,” a comedy starring himself and Kerry Washington. Despite his new movie, Murphy has received a lot more buzz about something else: his love life. In an interview with “Additional,” Murphy finally puts the rumors to rest. When asked if he had ever dated Whitney Houstonas some had claimed given that they both became famous around the same time, Murphy responded very respectfully and clearly.

“I never dated Whitney. She was a friend of mine,” Murphy said. “I may have gone to dinner with her a few times, but it was never like we were dating – we were never boyfriend and girlfriend. We were very friendly acquaintances. She was a beautiful person.” In addition to Houston’s good looks, Murphy also commented on Houston’s great sense of humor – a compliment coming from the comedic icon himself – and claimed that he had never seen Houston do drugs personally. “I once saw her smoke a cigarette, but that was it,” Murphy said. “She knows I didn’t like it and she didn’t do that to me.”

Most recently, Murphy co-headlined the hit film “The Heist of the Tower” with another funny man Ben Stiller and was to accommodate the Oscars This year. However, following the ‘Tower Heist’ filmmaker That of Brett Ratner Controversially resigning from directing the telecast event, Murphy turned down the offer at the last minute, although he never confirmed that he withdrew because of his friend Ratner. Even though he opted out of this year’s show, Murphy would still like to have the opportunity one more time, saying that although he enjoyed Billy Crystal as host, he would have run the night a little faster. “If they ask me again and it happens, I’m totally open to doing it,” Murphy said. “It’s one of the few things I haven’t done as a comedian.”

How credible is Murphy’s response to the Houston dating rumor? And does it really matter at this point? Will a piece of Whitney’s story ever be revealed to the world now that she is gone?
