Everett police say woman died and another injured during home liposuction – Boston News, Weather, Sports

EVERETT, MASS. (WHDH) – Everett police said a woman is dead and another was taken to the hospital after undergoing liposuction at home Thursday.

In a home security video, a first responder was seen walking into a duplex in Everett with a stretcher. Fire officials said the call was for a person “bleeding.” Everett police told 7News they are investigating whether the patient was injured during liposuction at a home.

Neighbors on Bucknam Street reported seeing emergency workers at the two-family home late Thursday evening.

“We could hear them. They spoke quite loudly and all we heard was “no response”. That’s all we heard,” said neighbor Judy.

Around the same time, Somerville police said they were called to an apartment building on Central Street for a medical emergency.

“We saw two police cars, and I think two more over there, and some police came in with a camera,” Somerville neighbor Leige Lopes said.

7News has learned the two incidents may be connected.

On Friday morning, Massachusetts state troopers were seen on camera returning to the home in Everett.

7News then learned that a death investigation was underway for one of the patients. No one at either home responded to requests for comment.

As of 5 p.m., it was unclear whether there were any suspects in the investigation.
