Former England coach Gareth Southgate could become a television pundit, reports the Daily Mail.

The BBC is looking to bring in a coach to replace Ian Wright, who is leaving the broadcaster. If Southgate accepts the offer, he will have to work in tandem with Gary Lineker, who has been extremely harsh about the specialist’s work.

“Gareth is eloquent, charming and popular with viewers. People will want to listen to him. When he and Lineker are in the studio it will be something incredible,” said a BBC source.

It is worth noting that Southgate has already worked in television since leaving Middlesbrough in 2009.
