15-year-old arrested in France for threatening Isaac Herzog – report

A 15-year-old in France was arrested on suspicion of threatening Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Israeli media reported on Sunday.

In addition, French police launched an investigation into death threats against three Israeli athletes at the Paris Olympic Games on the same day, the Paris prosecutor’s office said.

Officials from the anti-cybercrime agency are also investigating the publication of athletes’ personal data on social networks on Friday and are trying to have that data deleted, prosecutors said.

Iranian plot against Israeli athletes and tourists?

Israel’s foreign minister warned his French counterpart on Thursday about a possible Iranian-backed plot to attack Israeli athletes and tourists during the Paris Olympics.

According to official information, Israeli athletes at the Games will be accompanied to and from competitions by elite units and will receive 24-hour protection throughout the Olympic Games. The Israeli secret service Shin Bet is supporting security.
