Indian mother and older siblings protect ‘only son’ after he rapes and strangles her 9-year-old sister

A 13-year-old boy was protected by his mother and sisters under the pretext that he was the “only son” in the family after he raped and strangled his sister after watching a pornographic video on his mobile phone. The incident took place on April 24 in a village in Rewa district of India’s Madhya Pradesh state, police said.

It took about three months for the police to arrest the perpetrator because the mother and sisters tried to cover up the crime.

“On April 24, a nine-year-old girl was raped and strangled within the premises of Jawa police station. The police filed a complaint and launched an investigation. The victim’s body was found in the courtyard of her house, where she was sleeping at the time of the incident,” police commissioner Vivek Singh was quoted as saying by Indian news channel NDTV.

The 13-year-old’s mother and sisters – aged 17 and 18 – admitted that they tried to cover up the incident and save the perpetrator during the intensive investigation.

During questioning, the boy stated that he had slept next to the victim on the night of the crime.

The teenager admitted to raping his sister after watching a porn video on his phone.

According to police, the boy strangled the victim after she said she would inform her father about the incident.

The boy informed his mother about the crime and strangled her when he realized that the victim was still alive.

Singh told the news channel that the two sisters, who were trying to cover up the crime, switched places on the bed to mislead the investigation.

They even tried to deceive the police by claiming that the minor had died as a result of a poisonous insect bite.

They even took the victim’s body to a local doctor, but when he turned them away, they were forced to take her to a government hospital.

The doctor at the medical facility stated the cause of death was rape and murder.

According to police, technical evidence was collected and 50 people were questioned. Police noticed that family members repeatedly changed their statements.
