Man found shot in DC apartment

Investigators believe the 27-year-old was shot.

WASHINGTON – Police are investigating after finding a man shot to death in a southeast D.C. apartment on Sunday.

Shortly before 3 p.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a reported shooting on Stanton Road in the southeastWhen they arrived, the officers found a dead man in an apartment. Investigators believe he had been shot.

DC Fire and EMS also arrived at the residence and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators have identified the victim as 27-year-old Stephon Clemmons.

Anyone with knowledge of this death should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text their tip to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a murder committed in the District of Columbia.
