Troy police search for suspect in alley shooting

TROY, NY (NEWS10)– Troy police are still searching for a suspect in a shooting Saturday that left two people in critical but stable condition. Police said both victims received life-saving medical treatment from the Troy Fire Department before being transported to a local hospital.

Just before 3 a.m. Saturday, police arrived at an alley between 2nd and 4th streets near Tyler Street for the arrest of a 19-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy with gunshot wounds. Police said during their investigation Saturday, they discovered the victims were walking down the alley when the suspect approached them.

According to police, the victims and the suspect spoke briefly and the confrontation escalated, leading to the shooting. Both detectives and evidence technicians interviewed witnesses and victims and began reviewing video surveillance near the shooting area.
