Maryland Weather: Chances of rain remain off and on

BALTIMORE – The threat of severe weather has decreased across the region, with the best chance remaining in central and southern Virginia through this evening.

More showers will move into the region this evening as low pressure develops across the region. A few rumbles of thunder and some downpours are possible, but severe weather is not expected. Lows will fall into the 50s tonight.

Friday will be a cloudy and cloudy day across the region with a moderate to high chance of rain. Rain will be light and sporadic throughout the day. It will be difficult to reach the 60°C highs in some areas, but temperatures around 70°C are possible in areas where clouds may break out.

More rain is expected over Mother’s Day weekend. Showers will return later Saturday and continue through Mother’s Day, with temperatures in the high 60s both days. The rain should ease later on Sunday.

Next week will start out dry, with Monday likely to be the only good day of the week as more showers return to the area by midweek. The highest chances are later Tuesday into Wednesday, with a possible break in rain on Thursday.

Temperatures next week will be mostly in the low to mid 70s, with highs and lows in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
