Worker from Telangana rapes younger sister and is arrested

Bijinepally (Telangana):A teenager was arrested on suspicion of raping his younger sister in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana, police said on Monday.

The incident took place in Bijinepally mandal of Nagarkurnool district, where the accused was working as a labourer. The accused, Keshavulu, a native of Dhone in Nandyala district, had fled after the incident and was nabbed after 15 days from Gangaram forest area in Vanaparthi district.

DSP Srinivas Yadav said Keshavulu lived with his mother and three younger sisters in a rented house in Mahabubnagar district until he got a job in Bijinepalli mandal of Nagarkurnool. All of them were daily wage labourers.

“A few months ago, Kesavulu came to the Keemya Tanda of Bijinepalli mandal to work as a labourer. His mother sent her younger daughter to the Kemya Thanda to cook for him as he was alone at his workplace and there was no one to look after him. After coming to Bijinepalli mandal, the accused allegedly raped his sister,” the DSP said.

However, fearing that his mother might come to know about the incident, he quit his job and ran away. He roamed the forest area of ​​Gangaram for 15 days. His movements made the locals suspicious and they informed the police.

During the investigation, an incident of alleged rape came to light. The victim was taken to Mahabubnagar General Hospital for medical examination on Saturday. “A case has been registered and the accused will be remanded in judicial custody on Monday,” the DSP said.
