The Bucks’ Patrick Beverley was suspended four games for violent throwing and “inappropriate interaction” with a reporter

Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley was suspended four games for his antics during and after last week’s loss in Game 6 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Beverley was sitting on the bench when he stood up and brought a basketball onto the market at a female Pacers fan who was sitting behind the team bench and hit the fan in the head.

He appeared to make a move to get the ball back and when it was returned, he threw the ball again at another fan who was able to deflect it.

Coaches and other players tried to defuse the situation, but Beverley appeared to continue talking to the fans sitting behind him.

When Beverley spoke to reporters after the game, she asked a member of the media if she subscribed to his podcast. When she replied that she wasn’t, Beverley said, “Then you can’t interview me.” No disrespect.”

Beverley later asked the reporter to “remove the microphone from the crowd” or simply step out of the circle.

“Patrick Beverley’s behavior toward ESPN producer Malinda Adams was unacceptable, unprofessional and did not meet the standard that NBA players consistently meet in their interactions with the media,” the NBA said in a statement The alarm clock.

Beverley says his pass into the stands was an “unfortunate situation that should never have happened.”

“What I did was bad and it should never have happened. I have to get better and I will. And that should never have happened,” Beverley said on his podcast. “No matter what was said, this should never have happened. As simple as that.”

Beverley and the Bucks also apologized to the reporter.

The suspension will be served until the start of the 2024/25 season as Beverley’s Bucks are eliminated from the playoffs.
