Cheektowaga man charged in fatal Broadway-Fillmore shooting

A Cheektowaga man was charged Thursday in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred April 26 near Young and Ashley streets in Buffalo’s Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood, according to Buffalo police.

Timé Thomas, 30, was charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Quentin Sims, 31, of Buffalo. While responding to a call of shots fired around 9 p.m. near Young and Ashley, Ferry-Fillmore District officers found Sims’ body with multiple gunshot wounds. Sims was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives immediately launched an investigation, which led to the identification of Thomas as the suspect.
