Police are investigating the deaths of two men whose bodies were found outside a South Hero home

Vermont State Police announced Thursday that they are investigating the deaths of two men whose bodies were found outside a home in South Hero that morning.

The names of the men, ages 68 and 35, were not immediately released pending notification of relatives and further investigation, state police said in a news release late Thursday afternoon.

“Initial investigations indicate that this was an isolated incident involving people who knew each other,” the police press release said. “It is understood that all individuals involved in this incident will be held accountable at this time. Nobody is in custody. There is no danger to the public.”

Police said a 911 caller reported the discovery of two bodies at a home on Kibbe Farm Road around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Members of the Grand Isle County Sheriff’s Department as well as South Hero Rescue and South Hero Volunteer Fire Department responded and found the two men dead at the scene, the release said.

State police investigators spent Thursday examining the crime scene for evidence, the release said.

The men’s bodies will be taken to the Vermont Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for an autopsy to confirm their identities and determine the cause and manner of their deaths, police said in the news release.
