Parts of Interstate 10 will be closed this weekend at Loop 1604

SAN ANTONIO – Motorists will have to endure another round of major construction closures in the far northwest this weekend.

As part of the Loop 1604 North expansion project, TxDOT will have several closures in place starting Friday, July 12 at 9:00 p.m. through Monday, July 15 at 5:00 a.m., weather permitting.

The closures include:

• Loop 1604, westbound main lanes from Lockhill Selma Road to I-10

• I-10 eastbound, right main lane at Loop 1604

• I-10 Eastbound: Collector-Distributor at Loop 1604

• Loop 1604, eastbound access road off I-10

• Loop 1604, eastbound exit to I-10

• Cloverleaf from Loop 1604 westbound to I-10 eastbound

• Cloverleaf from I-10 eastbound to Loop 1604 eastbound

The eastbound main lanes of Loop 1604 and both directions of I-10 remain open.

These are the minimum closures required for the planned work. All closures are subject to change as needed. Local police authorities will be directing traffic during this time. Drivers are asked to plan ahead for delays. A map and detour information is provided below.

I-10 EB main lanes to Loop 1604 EB

All drivers in the eastbound I-10 main lanes wishing to access eastbound Loop 1604 should merge onto the eastbound I-10 access road at Exit 556 B and follow that access road through the Loop 1604 interchange. They should then make a U-turn at UTSA Boulevard and then follow the westbound I-10 access road to the eastbound Loop 1604 access road. Traffic may enter the eastbound Loop 1604 main lanes using the first available on-ramp.

Loop 1604 EB access road and to I-10 EB

All drivers in the eastbound main lanes of Loop 1604 wishing to access eastbound I-10 should use the Vance Jackson Road exit onto the eastbound Loop 1604 access road and follow the signs for eastbound I-10. Those wishing to use the eastbound main lanes of I-10 may do so via the first ramp after the interchange. Those wishing to return to the eastbound Loop 1604 access road should continue on the eastbound I-10 access road and then use the U-turn at UTSA Boulevard and follow the westbound I-10 access road toward the eastbound Loop 1604 access road.

Loop 1604 WB main lanes, access road and to I-10 EB

All drivers on Loop 1604 westbound should use the Lockhill Selma Road exit and follow signs for I-10 westbound. Drivers should continue west on the I-10 access road to the La Cantera Parkway U-turn and then follow the east I-10 access road west to the Loop 1604 access road. Drivers wishing to return west to Loop 1604 should follow the west Loop 1604 access road and merge onto Valero Way into the westbound main lanes of Loop 1604. Drivers wishing to head east to I-10 should continue east on the I-10 access road through the Loop 1604 interchange and take the first available ramp onto the eastbound main lanes of I-10.
