Atlanta Braves news: Series win over Phillies, rosters and more

The Braves came into this weekend with a clear need to win a series against the Phillies.

And that’s exactly what they did.

More importantly, they found success thanks to one of their best offensive runs of the season. For just the second time this season, Atlanta had three straight games with 5 or more runs and 2 or more home runs. And the result was a much-needed series win over the best team in the National League, including a decisive victory over one of the best arms in the National League in Ranger Suarez.

But the success needs to continue, because over the next two weeks the Braves have some very important games that could impact their playoff positioning. That includes road games against Arizona and San Diego, and then right after the All-Star break against St. Louis. If the Braves can put together a winning streak over the next 10 games, and especially with Philadelphia having a very tough schedule in July, Atlanta could really solidify its playoff positioning as the season progresses.
