Who was Jalebi Baba? Jailed tantric who raped over 100 women and made obscene videos of them dies in Hisar Jail

Hisar: Notorious self-proclaimed godman ‘Jalebi Baba’, who was accused of raping over 120 women, has died in Hisar Jail in Haryana. The Baba was serving a 14-year prison sentence for raping over 120 women, making obscene videos and blackmailing them. Jalebi Baba was also known as Billuram and Amarpuri.

Jalebi Baba was lodged in Hisar Central Jail 2 where he suddenly fell ill and complained of chest pain. The prison authorities then took him to Agroha PGIMS where he was declared brought dead by the hospital authorities. Jalebi Baba’s body was sent for post-mortem but it is alleged that he died of a heart attack in prison.

Who was Jalebi Baba?

Jalebi Baba lived in Mansa in Punjab and used to live in Tohana. He was nicknamed “Jalebi Baba” because he sold jalebis from a cart in Tohana. Later he became Baba and founded an ashram in Tohana. He was Mahant at Baba Balak Nath Mandir in Tohana. Jalebi Baba later hit the headlines after he was accused of raping over 120 women.

Sex CDs found in the ashram

Jalebi Baba died on Wednesday (May 8) after falling ill in prison and complaining of chest pains. Jalebi Baba is said to have raped over 120 women by giving them intoxicants in the form of tea. Many of his obscene videos also went viral on social media. Police also found sex CDs from Jalebi Baba’s ashram. He committed heinous acts on women by intoxicating them in the name of tantra and mantra.

Obscene videos went viral

In 2018, a video of Jalebi Baba went viral on social media in Fatehabad district of Tohana in which Baba was involved in a shameful act with a woman. There was a huge protest against the Baba after the video went viral and the police registered a case against him. He was arrested and charges were filed against him in 2020. About 20 witnesses, including women and police officers, testified against him in court.

Jail sentence

The Fatehabad court had sentenced Jalebi Baba to 14 years in prison and fined him Rs 35,000. Opium was also found in Jalebi Baba’s ashram and a case was also lodged against him under the NDPS Act.
