Sabres select Konsta Helenius in first round of NHL Draft

The Buffalo Sabers selected center Konsta Helenius in the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft on Friday night.

The Finnish striker has played in SM-liiga for the last two seasons.

He scored 36 points in 51 games last season with Jukurit Mikkeli.

The 18-year-old is 5’11” and weighs 180 pounds.

Rounds 2 to 7 of the repechage will take place Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
