Multi-vehicle crash causes major damage | Daily Gate City – Keokuk, Iowa

On Thursday, June 20, at 10:22 a.m., a multi-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Main St. and Carbide Lane. Austin Paul Londrie, 24, of Keokuk, was driving a 2007 General Motors cargo van westbound on Main St. approaching the intersection with Carbide Lane. Jonathan Lee Dilley, 30, of Keokuk, was driving a 2008 Dodge Ram 5500 truck northbound on Carbide Lane approaching the intersection with Main St. Two vehicles, a 2018 Chevrolet Tacoma pickup truck and a 2020 Jeep Cherokee SUV, were unoccupied and parked at Mark’s Barbershop at 3531 Main St.

Londrie ran a red light and Dilley ran a green light. Londrie ran the red light and struck the front passenger side of Dilley’s vehicle. This caused Dilley’s vehicle to go out of control, veer off the roadway to the left, and strike a utility pole at the northwest corner of Carbide and Main Street. The pole was broken in half and the power lines were dangling. The vehicle then drove into the parking lot of 3531 Main St., striking lawn decorations and benches. Dilley’s vehicle then struck the Tacoma, pushing it into the front wall of the barbershop. Debris from the lawn decorations that the Dodge Ram had struck was pushed into the chassis of the Jeep Cherokee.

Londrie’s vehicle sustained major front-end damage, and Dilley’s vehicle sustained major passenger-side damage. The Tacoma suffered functional damage to the driver’s door and the Cherokee sustained minor underbody damage. The GM van, Dodge Ram and Tacoma were towed from the scene. Dilley was taken to the hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries. Londrie received a citation for failure to comply with a traffic control system.
