Millersburg girl dies after accident while driving under the influence of alcohol |

LIGONIER – A 7-year-old Millersburg girl was killed in a car-pedestrian accident Monday afternoon.

Alivia Miller was struck while crossing a country road in northeast Ligonier at 2:50 p.m. and died from her injuries.

According to LaGrange County officials, 26-year-old Eric David Estrada of Ligonier was driving a 2015 Mercedes passenger vehicle eastbound on CR 600 South under the influence of controlled substances when he struck 7-year-old Alivia Miller of Millersburg, who was crossing the street with another juvenile pedestrian.

Estrada was charged with drunk driving resulting in death.

He was taken to the LaGrange County Jail.
