Houston Traffic Delays: All northbound lanes of I-69 Southwest closed at Bissonnet Street due to lost cargo crash

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Traffic is increasing on I-69 Southwest, causing significant delays for drivers Tuesday morning.

All main northbound lanes of Bissonnet Street are closed due to a collision involving a box truck and a lost load.

Houston Transtar first reported the accident at 2:32 a.m.

Although the truck and pallets have since been removed from the main lanes, the closure continued as crews worked to clean up an apparent hazardous materials spill.

Drivers can use Highway 90 or Bellfort as an alternate route. The Beltway is also an alternative route, although delays were increasing on that route as well.

SkyEye flew over the scene, where the highway looked like a parking lot. ABC13’s traffic tracking technology detected the travel time from Sugar Land to downtown was more than an hour as of 6:30 a.m.
