Resurfaced ‘Conan’ joke eerily predicted Danny Masterson’s downfall

A remark made by television host Conan O’Brien to actor Danny Masterson in a 2004 interview clip seemed eerily prescient after it resurfaced on social media on Thursday.

In a Video During an episode of “Late Night With Conan O’Brien,” the actor made a risqué joke that took on a much darker meaning after Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison on Thursday for raping two women.

“I’ve heard of you,” Conan replied as the two joked, “and you’re going to get caught soon.”

“I know you will,” he added.

After Conan joked that Masterson had been “caught,” the actor jokingly agreed.

“I will,” he said with a serious expression.

The video post on X (formerly Twitter) was viewed nearly 700,000 times and people reacted with GIFs expressing their dismay and joking about the coincidence.
