A local felon was arrested Thursday on multiple serious crimes after allegedly confiding to his probation officer that he possessed drugs, weapons and other illegal items, which was reportedly confirmed following the execution of a search warrant.

Scotty Aron Weiser, 42, of 470 Elkhorn Loop, was taken into custody at his residence around 9 a.m. and charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, which carries a sentence of life in prison, possession of meth with intent to resell, which carries a sentence of up to 30 years in prison, 30 counts of possession of weapons by certain persons and eight counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, each with a sentence of up to 20 years, two counts of theft by receiving a firearm, three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the first degree, illegal possession of a body armor and possession of a defaced firearm, each with a sentence of up to six years.

Weiser was held on bail and pleaded not guilty to all charges in Garland County District Court on Friday. A felony review hearing is scheduled for Aug. 2. According to court records, he was convicted of multiple counts of meth delivery in Benton County in 2013 and sentenced to 18 years in prison, with 10 years suspended.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Weiser was formally interviewed Thursday morning at the Arkansas Parole and Probation Office, 615 W. Grand Ave. After being read his rights, Weiser allegedly admitted to possessing firearms and illegal narcotics, specifically meth, at his Elkhorn Loop residence.

He also admitted to having a firearm and three bags of meth in his 2007 Dodge Charger, which he drove to the probation office. The bags were found, two containing 3.7 grams and one containing 3.6 grams, for a total of 11 grams. It was also discovered that a juvenile had been left unattended in the vehicle.

Hot Springs detectives obtained a search warrant for Weiser’s residence, which was executed that same morning. Upon arrival, officers observed two juveniles and a 34-year-old adult woman exiting the home.

During the search of the apartment, officers allegedly found 29 firearms, including two proven stolen weapons and one with an obscured serial number, gun parts and accessories, ammunition, more suspected meth, body armor, digital scales, three loaded syringes and a homemade pipe “used to inhale illegal narcotics.”
