Georgetown County man arrested after traffic stop for drug and weapons possession

GEORGETOWN, SC (WCSC) – The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said charges have been filed against a man after a sniffer dog found drugs and weapons during a traffic stop.

According to jail records, 42-year-old Dmico Moore of Georgetown is charged with possession of 54.5 grams of marijuana with intent to resell and possession of a stolen handgun.

Officers stopped Moore during a traffic stop on Thursday and sniffer dog Aries alerted them to drugs and weapons in the car.

During the search, officers found a Browning pistol that had been reported stolen, an AK pistol in a diaper bag and a third pistol in a backpack, the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.

Moore was remanded to the Georgetown County Detention Center on Thursday pending a bail hearing.
