PlayStation 2 has officially returned from the dead and fans are excited

Back after more than 20 years

The PlayStation 2 was launched in 2000 and is still a classic gaming console today. Well, it’s back. At least more or less. And fans are thrilled.

The console released by Sony Interactive Entertainment was The Console in the early 2000s and was home to some classic titles such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Gran Turismo 4 And Final Fantasy X

After the PlayStation 2 was replaced by the PlayStation 3 in 2006, it was quickly forgotten. But to this day, PlayStation users mourn the loss of the classic console and its unforgettable library.

That’s why fans were excited when Sony announced it would be bringing back some PlayStation classics for PlayStation Plus subscribers. This means all members can access PS2 titles on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Every month offers some popular classics, and June was no exception with Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, war of stars: The Clone Wars, And Grave robbers: Legend added to the service.

Since the games were released in 2002 and 2006 respectively, it’s no wonder that gamers felt nostalgic about the revival of the PS2 and its games and shared their joy on Reddit.

“To everyone who played the PS2 premium games today, how happy were you when you saw this intro?!” wrote one user in r/PlayStationPlus.

The intro in question is a simple PlayStation 2 logo on a black background, but it was enough to evoke nostalgia in players. Additionally, it’s a great way to introduce new players to some classic titles.

In addition, there was soon talk about what other PS2 games should be available in the future, including the original God of War And Tenkaichi.

Right now, it’s exciting to see the comeback of some long-missing PlayStation entries.
