65-year-old woman killed in traffic accident in Tuscarawas County

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a 65-year-old woman was killed in a car crash in Tuscarawas County Friday afternoon.

The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on County Road 3, south of State Route 258 in Washington Township.


According to investigators, a white 2015 Polaris RZR side-by-side motorhome turned into a private driveway in front of Sally’s Hilltop supermarket, failed to yield the right of way and was struck by a red 2005 Chevrolet Silverado traveling south.

The Polaris driver, 65-year-old Lela Dale of Kimbolton, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services. State police say she was not wearing a seat belt or helmet.

The Chevy driver, a 51-year-old man from Coshocton, was not injured in the accident.

The crash is currently still under investigation.
