Man injured after “road rage incident” on I-70 in St. Louis

The victim was involved in an “outburst of aggression” with a white vehicle on I-70 eastbound between Goodfellow Boulevard and Carrie Avenue, police said.

ST. LOUIS — A man was injured Thursday in a “road rage incident” on Interstate 70 in St. Louis, police said.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a call of a shooting at 4 p.m. and found the victim at the corner of Von Phul Street and Adelaide Avenue with a gunshot wound to the arm.

The victim, a 54-year-old man, said he was involved in an “aggressive driving attack” involving a white vehicle on eastbound I-70 between Goodfellow Boulevard and Carrie Avenue, police said.

The man told police that the incident escalated until the driver of the white vehicle stopped next to him and shot at his vehicle.

Emergency services responded to the call to Von Phul and Adelaide, where the man reported the incident and was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition was stable.

The investigations are still ongoing.

This was the third incident on I-70 in the St. Louis area this week.

On Tuesday, Berkeley police responded to a 911 call about “shots fired” on I-70 near North Hanley Road.

A teenager was killed and a woman injured when he was shot near I-70 and Madison Street Wednesday morning, St. Louis police said.

Cure Violence is an international organization with a presence in several St. Louis neighborhoods. Violence interrupters are trained to deescalate violent situations in their own communities.
