Disabled woman raped: Disabled woman in Jamui ‘gagged and raped’ by uncle | Patna News

Patna: A disabled woman (20) from Jamui was on Tuesday allegedly gagged and raped by her uncle, who also threatened her at gunpoint not to tell anyone about the matter. However, as her health deteriorated, she and her sister told their father about the matter, who in turn reported it to the police on Wednesday. The accused uncle, who lives nearby, meanwhile fled his house after the incident, police said. According to a complaint filed by the survivors’ father, the 40-year-old accused barged into their house around 1 am on Tuesday when the sisters were alone at home. Local police chief Sanjay Kumar said their parents were at another house in the neighbourhood. “After entering the house where the sisters were sleeping, the accused overpowered the disabled woman, gagged her with a cloth and raped her. When the culprit was about to leave, the woman’s sister, who was sleeping in another bed next to her, woke up and tried to raise an alarm. But he threatened to kill the survivor by holding a gun to her temple and warned her not to inform anyone before fleeing,” the complaint said. When the disabled woman’s condition started deteriorating on Wednesday, the sisters reported the matter to her father, who took her to a hospital and reported the incident to the police, according to an FIR filed in the case. “Prima facie, the incident appears suspicious. However, medical examination of the rape victim has been conducted,” the station house officer said.
