Pedestrian killed in Austin hit-and-run on North US 183

AUSTIN, Texas – Austin police say a driver left the scene of an accident earlier this week that killed a pedestrian.

The Austin Police Department (APD) said that just before 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 13600 block of northbound US 183. Police said the driver did not stay at the scene of the accident.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

This is being investigated as Austin’s 33rd fatal crash of the year, killing 34 people. As of June 4, 2023, there were 43 fatal crashes with 43 fatalities.
