The spice was sold in 7-ounce packages with the UPC code 8 22514 26626 6 at retail locations nationwide.

An expiration date of January 2026 is printed on the back of the container label.

Salmonella was detected during routine tests.

The bacteria can be dangerous for young children, frail or elderly people, or people with weakened immune systems.

Even in healthy people, a salmonella infection can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

No illnesses were reported.
