Government doctor in Rawalpindi suspended for referring patients to private laboratory for tests

Rawalpindi (Pakistan), June 1 (ANI): A doctor at the District Headquarters (DQ) Hospital here has been suspended after he sent a patient to a private laboratory for tests instead of using the hospital’s facilities, ARY News reported.
According to the report, Commissioner Rawalpindi visited DHQ Hospital on Friday where he suspended a doctor, two chemists and a nurse for failing to perform their duties and sending a patient to a private laboratory for tests.

The Commissioner of Rawalpindi ordered an investigation against Dr. Amjad Ali and others involved in similar incidents.
Meanwhile, DHQ Hospital has issued a notice ordering the suspension of the doctor and others, ARY News reports.
Following the incident, the deputy commissioner clarified that denying people the services they need will not be tolerated and assured that everyone will receive the necessary care in the hospitals. (ANI)
