FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast: Rain Continues Friday

Series of storms will remain in the forecast until at least Saturday before the situation calms down. Strong to severe storms are moving in this evening and could produce strong wind and hail as well as heavy downpours. A severe thunderstorm watch is now in effect for Houston until 9 p.m. The models do not agree on the timing but it appears that a few lines of storms could impact us on Friday, one early in the morning and another in the evening. The severe storm risk increases to 2/5 for the entire area on Friday, which will include damaging wind, hail and a very low tornado threat. The schedule is subject to change, so be prepared for active weather throughout Friday and download our FOX 26 weather app to receive the latest alerts. More scattered storms are possible Saturday with lower storm chances Sunday. The situation ultimately evolves into a slightly warmer but drier situation for much of next week.
