Hines Ward, former NFL player, home for sale near Houston

Former NFL player and Super Bowl MVP Hines Ward is selling his modern Houston-area home for $2.1 million.

Ward, who played his entire career for the Pittsburgh Steelers, from 1998 to 2011, recently listed the family’s 5,577-square-foot home at 19114 Caney Creek Mills Lane in Cypress, according to Nan and Co. Properties, which owns the listing .

A four-time NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver, Ward served as head coach of the San Antonio Brahmas for the 2023 season, before the XFL team joined the UFL. Once a candidate for the Houston Texans head coaching job, Ward was recently hired as Arizona State University’s next wide receivers coach.

Ward and his wife, Lindsey Georgalas-Ward, purchased their newly constructed home in Cypress in June 2022, according to Harris County records. The home is in the Town Lake neighborhood, which includes a 300-acre private recreational lake, according to the community’s website.

Beyond Town Lake’s trails and lakeside activities, Ward’s home offers a swimming pool, hot tub, summer kitchen and professional-grade putting green on a third of an acre. A mosquito misting system keeps the garden free of insects.

Contemporary design elements include an open layout with high ceilings, neutral tones, hardwood floors and unique lighting fixtures.
