Man who raped two girls in Quakertown home receives sentence | Southeast Pennsylvania

QUAKERTOWN, Pennsylvania – A man who raped two girls in a Quakertown home was sentenced Tuesday.

A Bucks County judge sentenced Matias J. Martinez Morales, 60, formerly of Quakertown, to 18 ½ to 47 years in prison, according to a news release from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.

At the end of January, a Bucks County jury found Morales guilty on one count each of rape by coercion, rape of a child, indecent touching of a person by coercion and terroristic threats. He was also found guilty on two counts each of unauthorized touching of a minor, indecent touching of a person under 13 and enticement of a minor, prosecutors said.

According to the press release, Judge Jeffrey L. Finley also sentenced Martinez Morales to five years probation.

Finley also ordered that Martinez Morales have no contact with the victims, prosecutors said. The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Sexual Offenders Assessment Board ruled that Martinez Morales did not meet the criteria to be classified as a sexually violent offender, but he must still register as a sex offender for life, prosecutors said.

The prosecutor’s investigation by the Quakertown Borough Police Department began in November 2022. That month, Quakertown Detective Ryan Naugle received a report from Child Protective Services indicating that a 16-year-old girl had been raped by a man when she was four years old, prosecutors said.

During a forensic interview by the Child Advocacy Center, the victim stated that Martinez Morales raped her multiple times and threatened to kill her and her family if she told anyone, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said a second victim was interviewed by the Child Advocacy Center and reported being sexually abused multiple times by Martinez Morales when she was six years old.
