Houston remains dangerously HOT for Memorial Day with late-day showers and chances of storms.

The NWS continues to issue a heat advisory for much of Southeast Texas, but has added an excessive heat warning for Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Waller, Washing and Warton counties through Monday the 22nd. hours. Remember to stay hydrated, take breaks outside to avoid heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

The reason for this oppressive heat is a dome of high pressure over southern Mexico. We are at the edge of this anticyclone. This does two things. First, it keeps the severe weather north of us, and second, it gives us a lot of heat. Try to take it easy and make sure you drink plenty of water!
