Two injured, suspect arrested after SWAT operation in southeast Austin

Two people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries Saturday evening following a SWAT operation in southeast Austin.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., Austin Police responded to reports of a shooting or stabbing in the 5200 block of Woodland Oaks Court.

When officers arrived, they found two seriously injured victims. Both were taken to a nearby hospital.

The APD SWAT team arrived to assist. The suspect was then taken into custody. The streets were reopened several hours later, but authorities remained on scene to investigate what led up to the incident.

Investigators believe that this was an isolated incident and that there was no ongoing threat to the population.
