Streatham: Man jailed after raping woman at Norbury home

Raphael Fakoya, 35, was sentenced to nine years in prison on May 13 after being found guilty of numerous sexual offenses.

The attack occurred in February 2022 at Fakoya’s home, with a woman he knew.

Fakoya will be placed on the sex offenders register for life.

Following a hearing at Croydon Crown Court on January 24, Fakoya, of Beatrice Avenue, SW16, was deemed to be a serious danger to women.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault.

Detective Constable Jo Cheung, who led the investigation into Fakoya’s conviction, said: “I hope that this conviction and sentencing reinforces the message that the Met is committed to investigating sexual offenses and ensuring that those who commit such acts , be brought to justice to be held accountable.” Their actions.

“The women Fakoya attacked trust us to listen and support them through this ordeal. We investigated their claims and now a dangerous sex offender is being locked up.

“I would urge anyone who has experienced sexual abuse to speak to the police so you can be supported and any allegations can be investigated.”
