Severe storms bring heavy rain to Houston

Weather warnings were in effect for the Houston area as severe thunderstorms threatened to flood parts of southeast Texas on Monday, May 13, the National Weather Service said (NWS) warned.

THE NWS placed 20 counties in southeast and south-central Texas under a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. Monday, warning of heavy rain falling at a rate of 2 inches per hour.
