The Montgomery County Police Department meets with Hyundai representatives for a press conference to kick off our second three-day event to help Hyundai owners prevent car theft.

A representative will provide details of the free software update to all owners and lessees of Hyundai vehicles (model years 2011-2021) with mechanical “turn-to-start” key ignition.

The software upgrade event will see eligible Hyundai vehicles equipped with anti-theft software designed to protect against theft mode popularized on social media. This upgrade is offered free of charge.

The free anti-theft software event takes place Friday And Saturday (2 and 3 August) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday (4 August) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Paint Brach High School, 14121 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville.

Flyers in English and Spanish are attached to this press release.

There is no cost. All Hyundai owners who visit us will receive a free steering wheel lock.
