Police say one person was shot and killed by an officer during a domestic violence incident in Raleigh | News

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — One person was shot by an officer during a domestic violence incident in Raleigh Friday morning, police said.

Memphis Police Department (MPD) confirmed that officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 3000 block of Dumbarton Road just after 3 a.m. and found an injured man inside the home.

Someone armed with a gun attacked the officers before they opened, firing and hitting the suspect, MPD said.

Both the suspect and the injured man were taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said. The suspect later died.

MPD did not release the suspect’s gender.

The man’s condition is stable, police said.

An officer suffered minor injuries at the scene, but police said it was unrelated to the domestic violence incident. MPD did not elaborate.
