Bodycam shows arrest of convicted sex offender accused of Miami Beach attack – NBC 6 South Florida

Body camera footage captures the moment police arrest a convicted sex offender wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman at roller skating rinks in Miami Beach.

The attack occurred early in the morning of July 16 on the Beachwalk between 23rd and 24th Streets. After a two-day search, Miami Beach police arrested 30-year-old Keith Hill Jr. of Illinois on charges of sexual assault.

Miami Beach police have arrested a suspect after a woman was sexually assaulted while walking on the beach earlier this week, NBC6’s Jamie Guirola reports.

According to police, the victim was roller skating when a man grabbed her from behind for no reason. Cameras in the area recorded part of the incident, which Miami Beach police spokesman Chris Bess described as a “brazen and senseless attack.”

The man then fled to the Broward County area, Bess said.

The body camera showed Hollywood police officers approaching and arresting Hill on the beach on Friday. Hill was apparently “well known” in the Broward County area.

Hill was also arrested for failing to register as a sex offender (for which he was convicted in Illinois) and for providing authorities with a false identification.

“This was a very, very traumatic experience for our victim,” Bess said. “So this arrest is not only a victory for our city, but we are also getting justice for our victim.”

On Saturday, Hill reportedly refused to appear in court. He remains incarcerated at the Paul Rein Detention Center.
