Man arrested for alleged attack on Pineville Greenway

PINEVILLE, NC – A man is in jail facing charges after allegedly attacking a woman on a Pineville Greenway Monday afternoon.

According to a press release from Pineville Police, a woman contacted police around 2 p.m. Monday to report an assault on the Greenway between Leitner Drive and Centrum Park in Pineville.

The woman told police that she was grabbed by an unknown man while jogging, thrown to the ground and crushed. She was able to escape after kicking the man away and running away to get help.

Police arrived and arrested 28-year-old Tyrone Duncan of South Carolina.

Duncan was charged with assault on a woman and possession of methamphetamine.
