Man dies in traffic accident in Lake City, Seattle

Police believe there was a disturbance before a 33-year-old man was hit and killed in the Lake City neighborhood.

SEATTLE – A homicide investigation is underway in Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood after a man was struck and killed by a car Monday morning.

Seattle Police Department patrol officers responded to reports of an accident near Northeast 125th Street and 30th Avenue Northeast at approximately 4:45 a.m.

A 33-year-old man was found on the street. Rescue workers gave him life-saving aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Police believe there was an altercation between the victim and another man before the victim was hit by a car.

It is not clear whether the suspect and the 33-year-old man knew each other, Munoz said.

The vehicle fled the scene. Police were unable to find the car or the suspect.

According to Munoz, police have a possible suspect, but he has not yet been identified.

The police did not release a description of the vehicle.

Homicide investigators are expected to question witnesses to the incident. Forensics are also on site.
