Judge Michael P. Shaughnessy will hand down the verdict today. Less than a month ago, Walters pleaded guilty to the following charges:

Additional charges of attempted murder, domestic violence and aggravated assault were dropped.

Walters was arrested and charged with stabbing her husband to death on the morning of Christmas Eve before taking their one-year-old daughter, which triggered the Amber Alert. When police arrived at the scene around 2:20 a.m. that morning, they reported finding a 30-year-old man with a stab wound to the neck.

The Amber Alert was finally lifted on December 29 after police said the child was safely returned and Walters turned himself in.
