Police register FIR, send medical samples for DNA test

RAWALPINDI:

A man named Afraz Satti was arrested for allegedly raping a woman under the pretext of getting her a better job.

According to the complaint filed by the victim at the New Town police station, Satti had promised her a job and asked her to meet him on July 8 at 11 pm.

When the woman arrived at the agreed location, she got into Afraz’s car and found three armed men inside, including Afraz and Imran.

They threatened to shoot her if she made any noise. The men then drove her to various locations, including Ghori Garden and Sadaat Town, and finally took her to an empty house. There they tied her up and sexually abused her at gunpoint.

The police have launched an investigation into the case and are actively searching for the accused. Based on the victim’s complaint, a case has been registered under FIR number 1898/24 in connection with sexual assault and harassment. The police have also sent medical samples of the affected woman to the Lahore Forensic Laboratory for DNA testing. Despite searches at the accused’s homes, they have not been arrested yet.

The investigating officer explained that efforts are being made to arrest the suspects as soon as possible. A security detail has been set up for the woman in question and the police are working to gather further evidence against the accused.

Meanwhile, senior police officials said authorities would strive to ensure justice for the victim and take all necessary measures to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
